1. What We Collect

Listening data

Static Radio streams publicly available podcast audio. Your channel selections, favorites, and listening history are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data at any time.

Crash and diagnostic data

If the app crashes, we collect anonymized crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics. These reports include device type, operating system version, and a stack trace. They do not include your listening history, favorites, or any personally identifiable information.

Presence (optional)

Static Radio may send an anonymous heartbeat to indicate that a listener is tuned in. This is used solely to display a listener count. No identifying information is transmitted.

2. Permissions

Static Radio requests the following permissions to function:

• Internet access: To stream podcast audio and fetch schedule data.
• Network state: To detect connectivity changes and manage offline behavior.
• Wake lock: To keep audio playing when the screen is off.
• Foreground service (media playback): To continue audio playback in the background and show a media notification.
• Vibration: To provide haptic feedback during dial interaction.

3. How We Use Data

The limited data we collect is used only to:

• Keep the app stable by diagnosing and fixing crashes.
• Display an anonymous listener count.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving Static Radio.

4. Third-Party Services

Static Radio uses the following third-party services, each subject to their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Anonymized crash reporting.
• Google Play Services: App distribution.
• Podcast hosts and CDNs: Audio content is streamed directly from third-party podcast hosting providers. These providers may log standard web request data (IP address, user agent) according to their own policies.

5. Data Retention

Your favorites and cached data remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app. Anonymized crash data is retained by Firebase according to Google's standard retention policies. We do not store any personal data on our own servers.

6. Security

All network communication uses HTTPS. Local data is stored in your device's application sandbox. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we apply reasonable measures to protect the data we do handle.

7. Children's Privacy

Static Radio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you have concerns, please contact us.

8. Your Rights

Because your listening data never leaves your device, you have full control over it at all times — manage your favorites or clear cached data within the app. For anonymized crash data held by Firebase, you may contact us and we will assist where possible. Depending on your location, you may also have rights under applicable privacy law including access, correction, and deletion.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
